Kaitlyn is somewhat a mystery. Being an up and coming actress there isn’t a lot of information readily available. However, I’ve tried to give as complete a biography as possible given the limited resources.
Kaitlyn grew up in Ohio with her mother MaryAnne Black, a dance professor, and her father, John Black, a doctor. With both her mother and grandmother teaching dance, it seemed only natural that she would have a passion for it as well. She first began her training in her grandmother’s dance studio at just 3 years old.
Kaitlyn graduated from Revere High School in 2001 and went on to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Theater Studies at Kent University. Throughout her school career Kaitlyn did several musical theater productions including Anything Goes, The Music Man, and Pippin. Unfortunately, she suffered from a back injury and had to give up dancing.
Shortly after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Kent University Kaitlyn did an Emmy award winning comedic web series called Floaters, where she played a temp who lived with two other temps and focused on their lives together. After Floaters ended she continued to strengthen her resume with small roles in several television shows including Raising Hope, Enlightened, and Cold Case. As well as less known movies and short films like Bureaucracy and Little Devil.
Kaitlyn recieved her “big break” when she was cast as AnnaBeth Nass on the CW’s hit television show Hart of Dixie. What was originally supposed to be only a few episodes has lead to a major recurring character. With the increase in screen time Kaitlyn is getting more press, so hopefully she will have much more to come.
